Catalogo di Luce

A fast, native photo catalog for photographers who want to keep their files where they are. Point it at your folders and it builds a browsable library of your JPEG, HEIC and RAW photos without copying, moving or changing a single original.

Ratings, flags and keywords in standard XMP sidecars · loupe, filmstrip and compare · duplicates · Places map · full-screen viewer on a second display.

Coming soon to the Mac App Store.

Requires macOS 26 or later.

No accounts, no analytics, no tracking. Your photos never leave your Mac.

What the app does

01

Your files stay yours

Originals are referenced where they already live, never imported into a hidden library, copied or moved. Nothing is ever written into your original files.

02

Standard XMP sidecars

Ratings, flags, colour labels, keywords, titles and captions are saved to XMP sidecar files next to each photo, so Lightroom, Capture One and other photo apps can read them too. Data those apps wrote is kept intact.

03

Cull quickly

Rate with 0–5, flag and reject from the keyboard. The loupe has zoom and a filmstrip, compare mode keeps a pinned photo beside the one you are judging, and every edit can be undone.

04

A second display

Show the current photo full screen on another display while you keep working in the main window: for clients, for judging, or just for a bigger view.

05

Find anything

Smart collections for flagged, rejected, five-star and recent photos. Browse by keyword, camera, lens and aperture from the sidebar, search by name, title or keyword, build albums with drag and drop, and see your photos on the Places map.

06

Keep it tidy

On-device analysis finds duplicates and near-duplicates. Keep the best shot in each group and move the rejected copies to the Finder Trash, always after you confirm. Watched folders pick up new and changed files automatically.

07

Export

Export JPEGs at the size you need, with an option to strip location data before you share them. Originals are never touched.

08

RAW and more

JPEG, HEIC, PNG, TIFF, WebP, PSD, DNG and the RAW formats macOS can read, including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Leica, Hasselblad and Phase One.

Your photos stay on your Mac.

Catalogo di Luce has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Duplicate finding and image analysis run on your Mac with Apple’s Vision framework. The only network use is Apple Maps on the Places map, which sends the GPS coordinates of your photos to Apple to show tiles and place names.
