How do I build a setup from a diagram?

Every setup pairs a top-down diagram with The build — plain-language rows for the key, fill, accent, background, and camera, written the way you’d say them on set. The portrait etching beside the diagram shows the result on a face. Tap either image to study it full screen; pinch to zoom.

Do I need studio lights to use the app?

No. Seven setups use no lights at all — a window, a doorway, the sky — and ten more need exactly one light. Every setup is tagged by gear, so you can search for what you own.

What are Sessions?

Named lighting plans built from your favourites — “Studio day, October”. Open one on set and swipe between setups with every build instruction in oversized type.

Does the app work offline?

Completely. The entire library — all thirty setups, diagrams, portraits, glossary, and essays — ships inside the app. Nothing is downloaded, nothing is uploaded, and there are no accounts. Read our Privacy Policy.

Are there in-app purchases or subscriptions?

No. Schema di Luce is a single one-time purchase — you own the whole app, and future updates are included.

I reinstalled / got a new iPhone. Do I pay again?

No. Re-download the app from the App Store while signed in with the same Apple Account and it’s yours, free.

Will more setups be added?
